Summer Programming

The Town of Edgewood organizes a number of summer activities for youth. Currently, for Summer 2026, we are planning:

  • YES! Summer Program (ages 5-12) - Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm includes arts, science, games, outdoor play, and field trips (June & July, fee per week)
  • YES! Teen Field Trips (ages 13-17) - Main Event (June 25) and Cliff's Amusement Park (July 24) - just $15/teen per trip (includes admission, lunch, and transportation)
  • Library Summer Reading Program - sign up for reading and the chance to win prizes (free)
  • Library Summer Events - on-site visiting museums and hands-on activities (free)
  • Teen Summer Events - Teen Field Trips, Teen Movie Nights, Back to School Party, and Water Play Days (July, Aug, Sep)
  • Water Play Days - For all ages, come cool down and enjoy water play at Venus Park (2 dates TBD, free)
  • Family Movie Nights - Monthly Comedy or Adventure movies at Venus Park Pavilion (2-3 dates TBD, free)

Additionally, BIG community events for all ages throughout summer:

  • Carnival - May 29-31 and June 4-7 - kick off summer with this Edgewood tradition (fee for rides and Midway)
  • July 4th Extravaganza - July 4 - a full day with car show, arts & crafts fair, field games, food trucks, music, and a laser light show. This year a public reading of the Declaration of Independence in recognition of its 250th anniversary.
  • Route 66 Run Rally & Rock - August 15 - celebrating Route 66's Centennial Edgewood brings back the Run and Pancake Breakfast (morning at Wildlfe West), Games, Music and Car Show (late morning to mid-afternoon at Rich Ford Edgewood)
  • Woofstock - September 19 - New Mexico's premiere pet adoption and celebration of our furry friends
