Community Meeting - Wayfinding & Branding

Community Survey flyer

A Community Meeting was held on June 25th to discuss Wayfinding & Branding for Town of Edgewood. Experts from New Mexico MainStreet led the meeting and offered insights on the community input received to date for the process. The COMMUNITY SURVEY closed on July 7. We appreciate all who shared their ideas on design cues for Edgewood.

Wayfinding is a cohesive system of attractive signage and cues to help locals and visitors find destinations within a community, such as parks, trails, and facilities. Wayfinding is more than signs -- it also includes color palettes, font styles, and naming conventions, as well as design elements like street lighting, street furniture and public art. This project will develop a visual vernacular for Edgewood to express the community's personality through stylized touchpoints. Under a Frontier Communities grant from New Mexico Main Street, the Town of Edgewood is receiving technical expertise to guide the Wayfinding & Branding design process. A steering committee includes citizens and staff to work with NM Main Street on the project.
