Road Department Supervisor

The Town of Edgewood is now accepting applications for a full-time, permanent Road Department Supervisor. Position performs administrative and technical duties which include planning, coordinating, and supervising road projects. Coordinates equipment use, evaluates project costs, and works closely with engineers and consultants. Conducts surveys on all Town roads; prepares and manages department budget and participates in hiring/discipline of staff. Schedules all road maintenance activities and oversees and directs the staff that perform those activities.

 Position must be able to travel extensively within the Town of Edgewood to inspect roads and make immediate on-the-spot assessments. Work is mostly outdoors sometimes in adverse weather. Position is on-call and frequently requires work outside normal working hours. Position requires advanced knowledge of roadway construction; hazards and safety practices; snow removal practices; equipment maintenance; as well as knowledge of computers; budgeting and accounting. Must have knowledge of and be able to operate and maintain construction equipment, which may include trucks, backhoes, graders, compactors, chip spreaders, scrapers, loaders, mowers, rollers, and dozers. Must have a high school education and a minimum of five years increasingly responsible experience in operating and maintaining heavy equipment and two-three years’ experience with supervising staff. Must have a New Mexico Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Wastewater Treatment Plant Chief Plant Operator

Town of Edgewood is seeking a Wastewater Operator Level III or IV – Chief Plant Operator that is responsible for overall operation, maintenance, and administration of the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Position requires flexible work schedule that may include evening and weekends. Must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license with no major driving infractions, an Operator Level IV Certification in Wastewater, and be willing to submit to a post offer pre-employment drug and alcohol test. NM Lab Tech III preferred. Non-Exempt position; Salary is upon education, experience, certification and job related considerations. Salary  range is $19.45 – $31.29 per hour plus benefits.
