The Town of Edgewood was incorporated on July 1,1999 and operates under the mayor/council form of government.  The Council, as the legislative body, represents the entire community and is empowered by the general laws of the State of New Mexico to formulate Town-wide policy.

Mayor Stearley was elected for a four-year term and the four Council members are elected to serve staggered four-year terms.

PARTICIPATION IN TOWN COUNCIL DELIBERATIONS

Citizen participation at Council meetings is encouraged. Regular Town Council meetings are held at 6:30 PM on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month in the Edgewood Community Center, located at 27 E. Frontage Road.

Council meeting agendas and minutes may be reviewed by clicking on the appropriate button at the left side of this screen. Agenda information is also available by calling the Town Offices at (505) 286-4518. Complete agenda packets, including the supporting staff reports, are available for review in the Town Clerk's office on the Friday before each Council meeting. If you would like a paper copy of the agenda prior to the meeting, please stop by Town Hall at 1911 Highway 333.

Every effort is made to assure that citizens have ample opportunity to address the Council on items of individual or community concern.

Persons who wish to address the Council on an unagendized item may do so during the "Public Comment" section of the agenda by signing up at the beginning of the meeting. Upon arriving at the podium, state your name for the record; there is a time limit on remarks of two minutes. As an unagendized item, the Council may not take action; however, it may agendize the item for a future meeting.

Those who desire to speak at a Public Hearing may do so once the hearing has been opened by the Mayor and the staff has completed its report. When addressing the Council, keep your presentation brief. Also, keep in mind that the Town Council usually has other business to conduct at its meetings within a limited time.

Those who would like the Council to agendize an item may send a formal written request to the Edgewood Mayor, P.O. Box 3610, Edgewood, NM 87015 or may send an email . The request will be reviewed by the Mayor and the citizen will be notified of the result of this review.
